New VMTurbo Appliance Release: Improving VM Performance and Planning for the Future

With each monthly release of the VMTurbo appliance we strive to provide our customers with a broad suite of intuitive and powerful management tools designed to do one thing – make your job easier by:
- Proactively maintaining your environment for maximum performance;
- Providing real-time optimization that works with your hypervisor (and not against it!);
- Enabling accurate and actionable forward looking analyses so that you can manage the growth of your environment and scale your limited resources.
The enhancements provided come predominantly from our customers (so thank you!). Your input is the spark that drives our engineering team to deliver on those needs.
This month’s release looks at providing clearer insight into the factors driving performance and forward looking projections. That insight comes in the form of:
Custom Groups
The ability to create custom Groups of resources (Physical or Virtual)
Custom Logins (Customer Views)
Custom logins (customer views) with either read-only or actionable privileges for these groups.
Focusing on a Subset of Your Infrastructure
The ability to use and view that group and that custom login to maintain and optimize just that subset of resources.
"Top 10" for Any Data
When looking at any set of data, be able to easily identify the ‘Top 10’ for any number or combination of criteria.
Organizing Reports
Continuing in the vein of information being easy to generate, easy to slice and easy to view, the reports interface is now more efficiently organized to enable data to be easily mined by category.
Seamless Integration with DRS
Peaceful and managed coexistence with your Hypervisor is now possible by being able to sync in real-time any changes between your DRS rules and those running inside the VMTurbo appliance. Moreover, this ability is enhanced by being able to over-ride any of those rules.
Planning for the Future
Accurate forward looking projections are a vital element of the toolset necessary to be confident that you have sufficient resources to meet the growing demands of your existing VM guests as well as the projected workload. To that end, the ability to extrapolate trending from historical samples as well as peak resource consumption is a vital ingredient of those projections. Reports for all analyses are now color coded and re-formatted to make them easier to understand and develop actionable plans.
