Enabling an Integrated IT Management Process

VMTurbo is built on a open service oriented architecture. This enables rapid integration with 3rd party IT Service Management applications to facilitate the end to end to automation of incident, problem, change and capacity & configuration management process in the virtual environment. Typical use cases are outlined below.
Incident & Problem Management
VMTurbo enables the ability for automatic creation of trouble tickets for performance problems that are detected in the virtual infrastructure, and close these on resolution. This also includes the ability to pass the list of Actions resulting from VMTurbo’s analysis which are recommended to resolve the issues which have been identified.
Change Management
VMTurbo enable the ability to automatically create change requests based on the Actions resulting from VMTurbo’s analysis. Execution of the changes can also be tied into the approval process, so that when the approvers have authorized the changes these will then be scheduled for execution in predefined changes windows by VMTurbo.
Capacity Management
VMTurbo provides the ability to import performance metrics related to physical machines, which are virtualization candidates, into the VMTurbo Planner to model P to V scenarios. Using the Planner architects and capacity planners can then model the impact of the P to V migration, accurately understanding the capacity requirements as well as understanding the optimum workload placement strategy to ensure quality of service and maximize efficient use of infrastructure resources. VMTurbo data can also be exported to 3rd party data warehouses that are used at an Enterprise level for capacity and service level management.
Provisioning
VMTurbo can be used in the provisioning process to provide the answers to important questions such as “Do I have enough server and storage capacity to support in flight requests” and “where should the virtual machines be placed,” streamlining the process and making sure that customers requests are not processed which would impact performance of the operational environment due to over subscription of capacity.
Dashboards & Portals
The VMTurbo user interface can be embedded into other portals and dashboard used by enterprises and service providers to support Enterprise wide reporting. This includes re-branding of views which may be necessary for service providers using VMTurbo for customer reporting. Alternatively any of the data presented by VMTurbo that can be retrieved through the user interface can also be accessed by through the api by calls from 3rd party applications, to achieve the same goal via its native user interface.
Application Monitoring
3rd party sources of application performance data can be leveraged to instrument the application model within VMTurbo.
CMDB
VMTurbo captures -- in real time -- a unified model of the virtual infrastructure, thus providing an accurate single source of inventory that can be used to populate and maintain the relevant configuration item (CI) data in a configuration management database (CMDB).
